On a recent trip to Australia I happen to connect with someone from Library For All and got to learn first hand about what it's all about and what's happening.... A little more info: Library for All is a non-profit organization that exists to unlock knowledge to those without access to books in developing countries. To achieve this ambitious goal, Library For All is building a platform that will enable the delivery of ebooks to developing communities, at a much lower cost than building physical libraries. Like all such memorials, it is intended as an antidote to genocide itself – teaching us and moving us to ensure we will never again be detached and complicit. But, for the most part, we remain unchanged. Virtually every visitor to a genocide memorial or holocaust museum can attest to overwhelming feelings of sympathy, sadness and outrage. The Rid All Green Partnership , founded by Damien Forshe, Keymah Durden and Randell McShepard, launched in 2010 in an effort to transform a once illegal dump in the Kinsman neighborhood of Cleveland into an urban farm. As a participant in the Aspen Ideas Festival Pitch Competition hosted by the Case Foundation, Rid All Green received the audience-favorite award and $5,000 to create a new greenhouse for the project.
